Do you work in a qualifying field and have been endorsed as a recognised leader (exceptional talent), as an emerging leader (exceptional promise) or under the UK Research and Innovation endorsed funder option? We can provide legal assistance with your UK Global Talent visa application.

UK Global Talent visa category is for talented and promising individuals in specific sectors wishing to work in the UK. 'Talent' applicants are already leaders in their respective fields, while 'promise' applicants have shown the potential to become leaders in their fields. The global talent visa category has replaced the Tier 1 Exceptional Talent visa category. By changes in Immigration Rules announced on 30 January 2020, the Home Office UKVI has introduced the new Global Talent visa category for talented and promising individuals who wish to work in the UK in the fields of science, digital technology and arts & culture.

Global Talent visa process

Stage 1: Endorsement

To get a Global Talent visa, you need to apply to be endorsed:

  • as a leader (exceptional talent)
  • as an emerging leader (exceptional promise)
  • under the UK Research and Innovation endorsed funder option

You need to apply for endorsement for a Global Talent visa before you can make an application for entry clearance for a Global Talent visa from outside the UK or an application for switching to a Global Talent visa from inside the UK. If you're successful you'll receive an email from the Home Office with a copy of your endorsement letter. You'll need these for your visa application.

You can use a valid endorsement given under the old Tier 1 (Exceptional Talent) visa rules to apply for a Global Talent visa. You will not need to get a new endorsement under the Global Talent visa rules.

Stage 2: Visa application

After you have received an endorsement from a Designated Competent Body as a result of a successful stage 1 application for endorsement, you can move on to stage 2 of the process. You must apply for your entry clearance as a Global Talent within 3 months of receiving your letter of endorsement from the Home Office, UKVI. You must submit your letter of endorsement in support of your application for entry clearance as a Global Talent.
