Fiance Visa UK
A fiance of a British citizen or settled person can apply for a UK Fiancé(e) visa to come to get married. The Fiancé(e) visa is normally granted for 6 months to enable you to get married to the UK sponsor within the permitted 6 months period.

UK Fiancé(e) visa requirements
The applicant applying for a Fiancé(e) visa UK must meet the following requirements:
- Suitability criteria as set out in Appendix FM to the Immigration Rules;
- Must have met each other;
- Must have the intention to live together permanently in the UK;
- Both the applicant and the sponsor must be free to marry each other;
- The applicant and the sponsor must have made appropriate arrangements and plans to get married in the UK;
- Financial requirement whereby the UK sponsor of the applicant must be earning at least £18,600 gross per year or savings of £62,500 if the UK sponsor of the applicant has no earnings from employment, self-employment or other means of income;
- Adequate accommodation for the applicant and the UK sponsor to be accommodated in the UK without recourse to public funds;
- English language requirement to show that the applicant has English proficiency at CEFR level A1 as required by the UK Immigration Rules.

What documents are required for a UK Fiancé visa application?
Below is a list of required documents that you need to submit for your Fiancé visa application:
- Valid passport
- Proof that your relationship is genuine
- Evidence of meeting the financial requirement
- Evidence of meeting the adequate accommodation requirement
- Proof of meeting the English language requirement

Switching from Fiancé(e) visa to Spouse visa
A person who is in the UK on Fiancé(e) visa can switch from a Fiancé(e) visa to a Spouse visa from inside the UK as soon they have registered their marriage with their partner.
Such application for switching from Fiancé(e) visa to a Spouse visa is made online using the application form FLR (M) before the expiry of the Fiancé(e) visa.
